Non-academic stuff

When I’m not busy with my work as a linguist, I will find other ways to be nerdy.
One of my creative outlets is music. Last year, I’ve started learning how to make orchestral music with software.
To track my progress, I now publish some of these experiments on YouTube.

My most watched video is an orchestral cover of Andrew Prahlow’s brilliant Outer Wilds theme:
I’ve also started creating unofficial soundtracks for Brandon Sanderson’s cosmere novels:
I also like worldbuilding, including conlanging. The character you keep seeing on my website is from Nȧwayal, a language I’ve started making a while ago (I really need to continue with this at some point). It’s transcribed yea, read /jea/, and means ‘sea, ocean’.
